The Hearth and the Salamander:
Burning Bright:
Guy Montag is a fireman, his job is to burn books. He lives in a society were nobody reads they all just watch TV. One day when Guy was walking home, and he ran into a girl. Her name is Clarisse and she asked questions. Guy thinks this girl is strange because she asks questions. She asked him if he was happy and Montag said of course he was happy. When he gets home he sees something in the ventilator, but he does not think much about it. He walks into the bedroom to find that Mildred has overdosed on sleeping pills. Montag calls the Hospital and two men show up. They use a machine that sucks out all the stuff from Mildreds stomach. Montag asks them why a doctor did not come. They say that a doctor did not come because these kind of calls were routine and a doctor does not need to be here.
Guy goes to the firehouse and they get a call to go burn a house. When they reach there destination the owner of the home is there. They ask her to get out but she did not. Then the lady burned her and her house down. Montag stole a book from the house.The next day Montag was sick. Captin Beatty visited his house, and Montag had to hide his book. They talk for a while. Beatty says that ever fireman wonders the history of there proffesion. Mildred almost showed Captin Beatty the book. Captin Beatty told Montag that Clarisse died in a car crash. Montag then showed Mildred all the books in the ventilator.
The Sieve and the Sand:
Montag continues to read the books. He decided to go and talk to Faber. While he was on the train to Faber’s, he decided to try and memorize the bible; it did not work out. Montag arrived at Faber’s house, and Faber let Montag in. Together Montag and Faber make a plan to bring books back into society. Montag would plant books inside the houses of fireman, and Faber would report them. Faber had another plan: He created an earpiece. Faber would tell montag what to do and say through the earpiece. If Montag got caught Faber would not get caught.
Montag returns home. Mildred invited her friend over to watch TV. Guy gets furstrated because none of Midred's friends talk they just watch TV. Montag decides to read them poetry. Guy goes to work. They get a call and arrive at their destination. There destination is Montag's house.
They arrived at Montags house. Captin Beatty made Montag burn his own books and house. Montag had to burn his books with matches instead of keresone. Midred got in the car and drove away. Montag got into a into a fight with Beatty. Montag ends up killing Beatty, other fellow fireman, and the hound. Now Montag is on the run, and everybody is looking. He runs to Fabers house. Faber told him to follow the river. Than to find the old train tracks and follow them until he found hobo camps. Montag is now on the run heading towards the hobo camps. As he was running to the river he could see the searchg for him on the parlor walls of the houses. Montag watched then they told everyone to look outside and see if they can find Montag. Guy Montag was not seen because he was already at the river.
Montag finally arrived at the hobo camp. The people there are scholars. They have a system were people memorize books. They when books become legal they will rewrite the books. Airplanes flew over the camp. The planes were heading towards the city. Bombs dropped on the city. Montag and the scholars headed towards the city. They are going to rebuild the city and make books legal.
