Similie:
1. "The electic thimble moved like a praying mantis on the pillow, touched her hand."
Bradbury is comparing an electic thimble to a praying mantis. This similie makes his writing stronger because it explaines how the eletric thimble moved.
2. "Montag, you shin that pole like a bird up a tree."
Bradbury compared the way montag shined the pole to a bird up a tree. Without this simile the reader would not have a good idea of how Montag shined the pole.
3. "Montags hand closed like a mouth, crushed the book with wild devotion with an insanity of mindlessness to his chest."
Bradbury is comparing how Montags hand closed to a mouth. Without this similie Bradburys writing would not be as strong because we would not have a good idea of how his hand closed.
Metaphor:

1. " With the brass nozzle in his fists, with this great pyhon spitting its venomus kersone upon the world, blood puonded in his head."
Bradbury is comparing brass nozzle spraying kersone to a great pyhon spitting venom. Without this metaphor we would not have a good idea of how the kersone came out of the nozzle.
2. "But instead he stood there, very cold, his face a mask of ice."
This metaphor compares his face to a mask of ice. This metaphor makes this sentence stronger because we have an idea of how cold his face was.
3. "A book is a loaded gun in the house next door."
This sentence has a metaphor that compares a book to a loaded gun. We have an idea of how bad it is to have a book in your house.
Personification:
A kind of metaphor in which a non human thing or quality is talked about as if it were human.
1. "It was a pleasure to see things eaten."
Fire is personified by eaten. Bradbury helped us understand how the fire was consuming the books by using the word eaten.
2. "She had a very thin face like the dial of a small clock seen faintly in a dark room in the middle of the night"
Clarrise's face is compared to a non human obkect like a the dail of a small clock. This use of personification helped us paint a better picture in our head of how Clarrise looked.
3. "As he stood there, the sky over the house screamed"
This is personification because the house was giving a human quality. This makes the reader understand better that the jets flying over the house made it seem like the sky was scearming helping understand the sentence better.
